The main theme in this poster is to “look closer.” From afar the type is very prominent and the silhouetted shape of the chameleon is also recognizable. Bright colors pulled from an actual photo of a panther chameleon stand out against the black background. The goal is to have the viewer read the poster from far away and then want to come closer. Upon a closer inspection, viewers can see that the large chameleon silhouette is composed of many tiny textured chameleons, and that the “Cleveland Metroparks Zoo” typography follows the curve of the chameleon’s back. This is telling the viewer where they can go to see extraordinary animals like the panther chameleon a little closer.
